Belichick proved tonight that the NFL is fixed
I never really payed attention to the NFL until this season. Yes I would watch a game now and then but keeping up with the teams was not my thing. That said I have always wondered how many of these professional sports are fixed. I’m not just talking about Football here, but Basketball, Rugby, Soccer, Baseball etc. Its been known for quite some time now that WWE and the wrestling world is fixed and we know that in the early days Boxing was a fixed sport (that’s why the black guys never won).
But what about our favorite past time, or the most watched sport in America Football? Could it be that it too is fixed? I’ll be upfront, I don’t have a specific favorite team in the NFL as I change teams from season to season. But the Patriots have never come close to becoming a favorite of mine. My teams this year has been the Bengals, Vikings, Bears and 50/50 Colts.
While I was rooting for the Colts all night, and was ecstatic when they made that game winning 1 point conversion, I couldn’t help but notice one of the dumbest moves by a coach all season. With a little over 2 minutes remaining on the clock and with the score at 34-28, Belichick decided to go for it instead of punting the ball. Yes you might be able to make such a gamble when playing against the Bears, Dolphins or even the still undefeated Saints, but not against one of the leagues greatest Quarterbacks.
Come on people, you’re up by a full 6 points and instead of punting it and bring your defense on the field to keep the offense at bay and eat up time on the clock, you’re gonna make such a stupid move and go for it? I’m not playing Monday morning Quarterback here, because this had nothing to do with the Quarterback but rather with a coach who gave the game to the Colts (call it what you will Colts fans).
Yes I’m happy for the Colts but there is no such thing as a “second half team” (hello Saints and Colts), and the amount of dumb ass plays I’ve seen in the past weeks I’m 100% convinced that while all games may not be fixed, the big and important ones are.
Don’t worry, I’ll bring some more facts to the table but let me assure you I’m in no where near qualified to be a coach and even I could tell that the Colts were gonna win from the last 5 minutes of the game.

It wasn’t a stupid move. It was the only move he had. Since the refs are fixing the game and will give Manning whatever pass interference call he needs, Bellicheck knows that his only option is to run out the clock.
That’s why he went for it on fourth-and-two when sound fundamental Football strategy demands that the ball be punted.
The Pats were playing the refs and the Colts. I can’t imagine that any serious sports fan watches something so completely rigged.
Everyone knew the Colts were going to win. That’s why they won. It’s what you expected. Study the elements of propaganda and marketing. It’s why you’ll tune in, next week.
I agree that it was a fixed game, I told my friends before the game even started that the Colts were gonna get lucky and come from behind and win. However I will disagree with you on Belichick. Running out the clock could have easily been completed by punting the ball and bring the defense back on the field. Two minutes is a lot of time for magic to be worked, but the Pats defense is high and had the game not been fixed they could have easily kept the Colts at bay with such a stupid move.
But it just wasn’t that move, all throughout the game, both teams made some head scratching plays. One minute Brady is playing like Brady, next minute he’s playing like Cutler. One minute Manning is living up to his name, next minute even Sanchez could do better.
What about the PI call on Butler in the 4th quarter where he was just playing the ball. That looked like a sketchy penalty Maybe that’s why he went for it on 4th and 2. I think if he thought if he were to punt the ball the refs will just give another BS pass interferance penalty to the colts to ensure that they get the win. Not only that I notice the Colts are the only team to get away with BS pass interference penalties more than any other team in the league. Colts president Bill Polian is on the NFL rules committee and he pushed for rule changes after the Colts lost to the PAts in 2004 to emphasize on the DB’s and their not allowed to touch WR’s after 5 yards. Most people don’t want to acknowledge this though.
