I’ve always heard people talking about how you get the best deals on Black Friday and after hearing how bad our economy is and that retailers are willing to do almost anything to get a buck this holiday season I decided to try out this Black Friday madness. So my bro and I left the house at minutes to 12 (AM) and headed to our local Best Buy.
I’ll be honest with you, I was not too surprised to see the 20-30 people who were already waiting 5 hours before the door opened. What I was surprised for was the absurd madness of the who idea. For one half the people there didn’t look like they needed any deals in order to furnish their living room with that new 50″ Pioneer HDTV. Of course there were the college kids and the Asian dudes who obviously would want to brave the cold to get their hand on the latest deals but seeing the Infiniti’s, Lincon’s, Lexus and BMW’s parked up there five hours before opening time I was a little taken back.
To make matters worse half the sales they claimed they were going to have never even showed up. You might remember that on Tuesday Best Buy had incorrectly listed a laptop on their website for $270. As any other tech gadget would do I ran down to Best Buy in my pajamas (not literally) to pick a couple up. Well of course they said it was incorrectly listed and that I would not be getting the $500+ savings I was hoping for. But one of the sales associates assured me that they would be having computers coming Black Friday in the $150 region.
I kid you not, the best deal I came up with on a system that day was $400. And to make matters worse at least 20 people cut in front of me and since I am not exactly a six footer there was no way I could reach over the heads of some of the dudes who were standing there to grab a ticket. All in all the best deal I cam up with was $270 savings on an HP computer. And as if that wasn’t bad enough they said I had to claim it by 9am. Eventually my bro took the deal (I didn’t get anything except for Coldplay’s new EP and Black Hawk Down collectors edition).
But it taught me something, if you think I will be busting my ass for 5 hours+ in the cold to save $300 you can think again. not to mention the fact that even after that I had to wait in line for 3 hours just to pick up the dam system. And those Xbox 260 deals happened to be non existent.
I really feel it for those of you who were looking for a deal. I hear the Monday (tomorrow) will have some less promising ones and my heart goes out to that Wal-Mart worker who was senselessly trampled just a few miles away from me in Queens over this stupid holiday madness. R.I.P
It never fails to amuse me how the most thankful day of the year is immediately followed by the most covetous day. Ironic isn’t it?

It baffles me that no one seems to be taking note of Thanksgiving this year. Yes I know we haven’t been having the best of financial times the last few months but come on guys, it could be worse. I’m not hearing too many people being kicked out of their houses (banks can’t afford it) so I’m assuming that most of you still have nice beds to sleep in. Granted you might not be able to secure that new SelectComfort bed you’ve been having your eyes on or that new Sony Bravia HDNA screen but at least you still go family and friends.
So instead of thinking of how bad times are brighten up the mood and be thankful for what we do have. It always amuses me though that the most thankful day of the year is folloed by the most unthankful day of the year (Black Friday) and I cannot throw stones because I’m planning to brave the New York cold come 12 midnight and try my chances at Best Buy.
But in all this remember, as bad as it is now we are no where near our founding fathers and believe me it can and will get allot worse so enjoy the “good times” while they last because I guarentee you that you will look back on these days and wish for them.

This is why I’ve always said nude photos belong in your head and not on your computer or cell phone or any other device for that matter. Tina Sherman found that out the hard way when her husband forgot his phone at a McDonald’s. So why are they suing the corporation you ask?
Well after McDonald confirmed that they would keep the cell phone safe someone leaked nude photos of her on the web and now she is embarrassed because people keep calling her about them. The only reason why I actually support her and her husbands decision to sue the McDonald’s corporation is because they gave the Sherman’s their word that the phone would be safe. Unless they are able to pull one and claim that the contents of the phone were not guaranteed to be returned in safe order.

You might wonder why I would want such a thing. Well apparently I’m not the only one. The AP got a statement from over 100 retired army generals and admirals who welcome the idea. Yeah I know that you think there is something up my sleeve and if you’ve been reading this blog for some time than you are absolutely right.
I’m not against gays/lesbians doing their thing behind close doors. But if they want to be dumb enough and flaunt their sodomy in front of their comrades be my guest. I just hope their families won’t be suing the military when they begin to fall one by one to friendly fire.
Remember Bill Clinton tried this early in his campaign and look what happened. If Obama is smart he will leave the issue alone. Because I’m telling you there are those in the military who do not like to know that some guy is staring at his behind. There have been stories about this, they set you up and take you down.
So as I said before, go ahead be my guest, get yourself shot. I sure won’t be morning.

This is absolutely hilarious. A Greenville NC Catholic Priest is under fire because he told his parishioners to repent of their sin (if the voted for Obama) before receiving communion.
I don’t know why I find this funny because I actually agree with the guy. As I said I don’t agree with most things practiced in religions today but its a fundamental of the Catholic faith that abortion is wrong (even though the Priests and Fathers do it to cover their crimes). So any Catholic who voted for Obama should repent because the guy supports things their religion says is wrong.
And no I’m not about to call down fire from heaven on the man because this is a free country. If you don’t like what he says go find yourself a gay loving pro rights pastor. They’re not hard to find these days you know.

FDR revolutionized the Presidency (in terms of communication) when he began his weekly radio messages telling the American people exactly what he was doing to fix the Depression and WWII. Now Obama has taken that a step further with his use of YouTube. Obama will be giving his weekly address and fireside talks via the radio (as usual) along with a YouTube video cast in which he will basically do the same thing FDR did.
Of course half that will be said will just be PR and help with his reelection bid but on the other hand it does seem like the biggest step ini terms of communication between the President and his people since FDR. Oh well the first video can be viewed below.

They say all is fair in love and war, so I’m guessing that this also applies to politics. Benjamin Netanyahu (Israeli Likud Party leader and Prime Minister hopeful) knows that all too well.
Imitation is the greatest form of flattery,” noted Ron Dermer, one of Mr. Netanyahu’s top campaign advisers. “We’re all in the same business, so we took a close look at a guy who has been the most successful and tried to learn from him. And while we will not use the word ‘change’ in the same way in our campaign, we believe Netanyahu is the real candidate of change for Israel.
So obviously the Netanyahu campaign is not denying it. What is striking is how this has suddenly become a political discussion by the media who think Mr. Netanyahu does not represent the change for Israel as Obama represented it for America citing such things as his wanting to cut off peace talks with the Palestinians.
The only notable differences in the layout of both sites is that in Hebrew everything is read from right to left. Good luck interpreting the site.
I should point out that the pictures and website link I have are the Russian version (thus reads from left to right). The Hebrew version can be found HERE.

If there is one thing I admire about Obama it is his tech-savvy. He may not be the Steve Jobs or Google guys but he does have his name in history as being the most technologically advanced president-elect in US history, unlike his opponent who thought 1080i refereed to a BMW model.
Well turns out that the device that said opponent ”created” won’t be allowed in the oval office. Obama has always been a fan of Blackberry’s (which is quite obvious looking through photos on his campaign trail). But according to the Presidential Records Act which requires correspondence between him and his cabinet in the official record and ultimately up for public review it looks like Obama’s Bold won’t be graduating with him to the Whitehorse in the next 65 days.
Mind you, Mr Obama was not the only one who faced this predicament. Eight years ago when Bush was sworn in he sent out an email from his than email address g94b@aol.com telling his 42 friends the following:
Since I do not want my private conversations looked at by those out to embarrass, the only course of action is not to correspond in cyberspace
I’m just wondering if Obama will be able to get around this loophole? I guess when you’re a Barack anything is possible although his advisors don’t seem that optimistic about the situation.

In just another instance of how our civil liberties are slowly but surly being taken away the Justice Department has just confirmed that law enforcement officials do not need warrants for their “Triggerfish.” In case you’re wondering what the hell that is, Triggerfish reefers to cell phone tower that law enforcement officials use to track a persons whereabouts by tricking the cell phone that the tower is legit.
So far triggerfish can only can only be used to pinpoint the approximate location of the individual in question, and it cannot snoop into phone calls, but its only a matter of time before that changes.

This marks the 300′th post on this blog so I decided to celebrate by talking off the top of my head (not that its anything new for me). It was funny I was browsing the internet today and came across an article found that depressed people watch more TV than those who do not. In case you haven’t noticed most shows have added significant numbers to their viewing audience.
But wait a minute, I thought that hope has come to America because Obama won? I’d be expecting half those people to be celebrating. But you know what, I’m not that surprised that no one is really celebrating Obama’s victory. While I am happy he won I don’t see any reason to celebrate because so far I have not seen or heard anything that I can say is going to drastically change our current course.
And don’t tell me not to be so negative about the dude, because half of the people who would have a problem with me saying anything would want to shoot the current President if they got the chance. Have a good day!
