So we survived 2009. Just a word of encouragement, life could be worse so don’t sweat it. We’ll just have to see what happens this year and hope for the best.

So Good Morning 2009. Video below is from Kanye West off his multi platinum album of 2007 titled Graduation.

Sarah Palin

Well what would you know, the most hated Republican women (by the democrats of course) has just been voted as the most desirable celebrity neighbor. According to Zillow.com  Sarah Palin was the most desirable celebrity closely followed by Oprah Winfrey and Michael Phelps.

As for those who attract too much attention, they really do too well on the charts. Least among those was Britney Spears, Lindsey Lohan, David and Victoria Beckham, Rosie O’Donnell and surprisingly Joe the Plumber.

I guess people dig soccer mom celebrities. Well that’s no surprise, Mrs. Palin is the only reason why McCain even had a chance. I just can happen to wonder where Obama would place on the list though.

You might have remembered that back in January this guy came on Today Show who had literally turned blue due to his use of heavy metals to treat dermatitis. Well after much convincing he decided to do a test to make sure he was in good health and the results have come back. As the title suggests he is in good health and has turned into a mini-celebrity even in NYC.

Video can be viewed below.

You might have remembered that two days ago I had blogged about how this dude from Philadelphia City Paper said that Obama owns a Zune. Well a spokesman from the Obama campaign has swiftly rebuffed the allegation and has said in no uncertain terms that the “The President-elect uses an iPod.”

My only contention with the fact is that the dude never said he does not own one. All the spokesman said is that he uses an iPod which means there is a good possibility that he does own a Zune. And that is exactly what the writer who originally reported the story is saying.

I vividly remember Obama pulling out an MP3 player with his left hand while exercising on the machine. It had a dark case protecting it and from what I saw, he was using a Zune.

I’ve seen a Zune in action. I know what it looks like.

But you know how politicians worse their spokespersons are. Always lying.

obama-zune Barack Obama uses a Zune?

Well it looks like the candidate of change was true to his word as he uses the Microsoft Zune. I’ve always been a fan of the Zune (even before it had sex appeal) because of what it could do and not how it looked (now you see why I was rooting for McCain). Now I’m begging to wonder if I should be proud or indignified that President elect Obama shares my Zune love.

In case you have not noticed, Zune kicks iPod butt in features and thanks to my new Zune Pass I keep 10 of the songs I download every month forever (and no Microsoft does not support this blog).

Anyways if you’re wondering how the president-elect owns a Zune and he uses Mac, wake up. Obama was only using his Twitter, Myspace, Facebook and Mac thing to “get the younger vote” which didn’t really help him much. If you haven’t notcied already Washington either uses Linux (first on the list) and secondly Microsoft. There is no change when it comes to Washington tech so wake up and grab a Carona…or not.

Its not like this is new business for The Simpsons. They’ve been doing this for years. But I find this one quite funny seeing it takes aim at one of the most ridiculous notions around today: Just because you own an iPhone does not make you cool, and just because you don’t own one does not make you uncool.

The entire five minutes of Apple bashing can be found after the break.

black_friday-300x228 Black Friday: never againI’ve always heard people talking about how you get the best deals on Black Friday and after hearing how bad our economy is and that retailers are willing to do almost anything to get a buck this holiday season I decided to try out this Black Friday madness. So my bro and I left the house at minutes to 12 (AM) and headed to our local Best Buy.

I’ll be honest with you, I was not too surprised to see the 20-30 people who were already waiting 5 hours before the door opened. What I was surprised for was the absurd madness of the who idea. For one half the people there didn’t look like they needed any deals in order to furnish their living room with that new 50″ Pioneer HDTV. Of course there were the college kids and the Asian dudes who obviously would want to brave the cold to get their hand on the latest deals but seeing the Infiniti’s, Lincon’s, Lexus and BMW’s parked up there five hours before opening time I was a little taken back.

To make matters worse half the sales they claimed they were going to have never even showed up. You might remember that on Tuesday Best Buy had incorrectly listed a laptop on their website for $270. As any other tech gadget would do I ran down to Best Buy in my pajamas (not literally) to pick a couple up. Well of course they said it was incorrectly listed and that I would not be getting the $500+ savings I was hoping for. But one of the sales associates assured me that they would be having computers coming Black Friday in the $150 region.

I kid you not, the best deal I came up with on a system that day was $400. And to make matters worse at least 20 people cut in front of me and since I am not exactly a six footer there was no way I could reach over the heads of some of the dudes who were standing there to grab a ticket. All in all the best deal I cam up with was $270 savings on an HP computer. And as if that wasn’t bad enough they said I had to claim it by 9am. Eventually my bro took the deal (I didn’t get anything except for Coldplay’s new EP and Black Hawk Down collectors edition).

But it taught me something, if you think I will be busting my ass for 5 hours+ in the cold to save $300 you can think again. not to mention the fact that even after that I had to wait in line for 3 hours just to pick up the dam system. And those Xbox 260 deals happened to be non existent.

I really feel it for those of you who were looking for a deal. I hear the Monday (tomorrow) will have some less promising ones and my heart goes out to that Wal-Mart worker who was senselessly trampled just a few miles away from me in Queens over this stupid holiday madness. R.I.P

It never fails to amuse me how the most thankful day of the year is immediately followed by the most covetous day. Ironic isn’t it?

thanksgiving_2008-300x276 Happy Thanksgiving 2008It baffles me that no one seems to be taking note of Thanksgiving this year. Yes I know we haven’t been having the best of financial times the last few months but come on guys, it could be worse. I’m not hearing too many people being kicked out of their houses (banks can’t afford it) so I’m assuming that most of you still have nice beds to sleep in. Granted you might not be able to secure that new SelectComfort bed you’ve been having your eyes on or that new Sony Bravia HDNA screen but at least you still go family and friends.

So instead of thinking of how bad times are brighten up the mood and be thankful for what we do have. It always amuses me though that the most thankful day of the year is folloed by the most unthankful day of the year (Black Friday) and I cannot throw stones because I’m planning to brave the New York cold come 12 midnight and try my chances at Best Buy.

But in all this remember, as bad as it is now we are no where near our founding fathers and believe me it can and will get allot worse so enjoy the “good times” while they last because I guarentee you that you will look back on these days and wish for them.

This is why I’ve always said nude photos belong in your head and not on your computer or cell phone or any other device for that matter. Tina Sherman found that out the hard way when her husband forgot his phone at a McDonald’s. So why are they suing the corporation you ask?

Well after McDonald confirmed that they would keep the cell phone safe someone leaked nude photos of her on the web and now she is embarrassed because people keep calling her about them. The only reason why I actually support her and her husbands decision to sue the McDonald’s corporation is because they gave the Sherman’s their word that the phone would be safe. Unless they are able to pull one and claim that the contents of the phone were not guaranteed to be returned in safe order.

barack-haircut-150x150 Obamania [part 1]Since we have to live through four years of this guy I might as well start a series about him. This being the first episode I’d like to cover his barber Zariff who ha shot to instant fame thanks to Obama. People have begun to treat his barber salon like a tourist attraction.

They not only want to sit in the chair that Obama gets his hair cuts in, they want the “Obama cut” also. Am I the only one who thinks this is going a little too far? Maybe so…
