These are two funny stories. The first involves a man who parked a trailer of shit outside a Democratic campaign office. His actual words:

I think Obama’s plan is just one big old poop sandwich and we’re all going to have to take a bite

Needless to say it has outraged Democrats who are outraged at the idea of a pile of dung across the street which has caused drivers to slow down and take pictures of the spectacle. But accord to 38-year-old Terry Reed he has no intentions of removing it until after election day.

My only regret is that I didn’t do something sooner

The second case involves a college professor who resigned after admitting he removed McCain signs from along the road.

Phil Busse left his temporary post at St. Olaf College after the school learned of his Oct. 30 posting, “Confessions of a Lawn Sign Stealer,” in which the visiting professor admitted to snatching signs from Highway 19 in southeast Minnesota, the Northfield News reported Monday.

And that about wraps it up for this short episode. If you haven’t already done it, need I say it again? Get off your lazy ass and vote. I don’t care who it is you vote for.

Democrat journalist Orson Scott Card

Democrat journalist Orson Scott Card

Finally someone got it right. Orson Scott Card has finally said something that every major news network (with the exception of Fox) was not willing to say. You will find the letter below.

This housing crisis didn’t come out of nowhere. It was not a vague emanation of the evil Bush administration.

It was a direct result of the political decision, back in the late 1990s, to loosen the rules of lending so that home loans would be more accessible to poor people. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were authorized to approve risky loans. …

This was completely foreseeable and in fact many people did foresee it. One political party, in Congress and in the executive branch, tried repeatedly to tighten up the rules. The other party blocked every such attempt and tried to loosen them.

Furthermore, Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae were making political contributions to the very members of Congress who were allowing them to make irresponsible loans. (Though why quasi-federal agencies were allowed to do so baffles me. It’s as if the Pentagon were allowed to contribute to the political campaigns of Congressmen who support increasing their budget.)

Isn’t there a story here? Doesn’t journalism require that you who produce our daily paper tell the truth about who brought us to a position where the only way to keep confidence in our economy was a $700 billion bailout? Aren’t you supposed to follow the money and see which politicians were benefiting personally from the deregulation of mortgage lending?

I have no doubt that if these facts had pointed to the Republican Party or to John McCain as the guilty parties, you would be treating it as a vast scandal. “Housing-gate,” no doubt. Or “Fannie-gate.”

Instead, it was Senator Christopher Dodd and Congressman Barney Frank, both Democrats, who denied that there were any problems, who refused Bush administration requests to set up a regulatory agency to watch over Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, and who were still pushing for these agencies to go even further in promoting sub-prime mortgage loans almost up to the minute they failed. …

Yet when Nancy Pelosi accused the Bush administration and Republican deregulation of causing the crisis, you in the press did not hold her to account for her lie. Instead, you criticized Republicans who took offense at this lie and refused to vote for the bailout!

Your job, as journalists, is to tell the truth. That’s what you claim you do, when you accept people’s money to buy or subscribe to your paper.

But right now, you are consenting to or actively promoting a big fat lie — that the housing crisis should somehow be blamed on Bush, McCain, and the Republicans. You have trained the American people to blame everything bad — even bad weather — on Bush, and they are responding as you have taught them to.

If you had any personal honor, each reporter and editor would be insisting on telling the truth — even if it hurts the election chances of your favorite candidate.

third-presidential-debate-october-2008 third presidential debate: who won?

I’m beginning to sense that every time (since the first presidential debate) all the networks have pre written a story saying John McCain was too cranky so he lost (including Fox). No one denies that Barack Obama is the more eloquent of the two, but neither can you deny the fact that in the last two debates (especially last night’s one) John McCain kept Obama on the offensive.

And all the political pundits are saying that he is too cranky. As McCain said last night (which could have been a game changer if it were not for Obama’s extremely good comeback) “if you wanted to run against George Bush, you should have run four years ago.”

Nothing pleased me more than the way both candidates kept pandering to Joe the plumber who has gotten instant fame thanks to a big mistake by Obama. What the news media will not say is that last night McCain gave the best demonstration of the socialistic intent of Obama. As he said to Joe the Plumber, “I want to spread some of that wealth around.”

I do have to give Obama credit though. On almost every debate he has creamed McCain on the issue of healthcare. But one small advantage that McCain has is that its the same government who has mashed up the health care system that Obama want’s to give back control to. In other words “more of the same.”

So if you are asking me who won, I’ll have to go with McCain and the reason why is on two issues: Joe the Plumber who solidified the point of what Obama really stands for and McCain hammering Obama on living in the past and referring him to President Bush.

mahoney_allen Mahoney caught in sex scandal

Tim Mahoney and former aide Patricia Allen

Even though I have to hold myself back from saying it, I’m not going to say GOTCHA!! But this is definitely deja vu. Mahoney, yeah the same guy who outed Foley in 2004 for his sex scandal has himself been caught in one.

To make matters even worse he allegedly paid off former aide Patricia Allen 121,000 (of campaign funds) to keep her mouth quiet. Although he admits to the affair he denies the latter allegation.

I’m so interested in seeing what is going to happen now. And please tell me that the democratic leadership in Washington will kindly ask him to step down.

I am pissed at Congress. No I am not mad at the President or Barack or even McCain. But the freakin’ idiots that we have up there. We just experienced the greatest one day lost on the DOW and all I can hear the dumbass democrats up in Washington do is blame the Republicans for not passing the bill.

You called their commander in chief a fucking idiot for crying out loud and you expect them to vote with you? If your bill is so grand, why not pass it yourself, after all you have all the votes to do so. Pass the damn bill and take all the credit for it. I’m sure it will suite you well in the upcoming elections.

Oh wait I forgot its the crappiest bill ever thought of in a long time. You’re telling me that a bill that gives over $20 billion to liberal organizations is such a good idea? All you idiots want is the Republicans to put their signatures on that thing and than you (along with the drive by media) use it as a beating stick in their back sin a couple days.

I thought this was supposed to be the Congress that fixed the problems we had when the Republicans were in a few years ago? So much for all your good plans. And don’t tell me its because of the President. Because the President backed allot of this bill and people were still outraged about it. So he was on your side for once and you still missed by a mile. Heck crude oil has dropped $11 today but it doesn’t even make sense cause half the people are more concerned about keeping their car than filling her up at the pump.

Yes we lost more in one day ($1 Trillion) than this bailout would have cost us ($700 billion), but guess what, these greedy banks and loan sharks need to pay for their crimes. I don’t care if its gonna cost us 10 years before we have another record day on Wallstreet. But giving the banks nearly $1 Trillion to deal with the problems they created is just as bad as giving your teenager a gun to fix the problems he started.

eclggstffeujucpucnom7w-300x188 Obama voters more fearful than McCain voters

I don’t have many nice things to say about either political party but this time I have to pick at the Democratic party. A new poll released today by Gallup shows that Obama voters are more fearful (73%) that the economy is in a recession or depression than McCain voters (45%).

Isn’t this telling us something? Apparently Obama is operating a campaign based on scaring people into voting for him. If more than half of your voters are voting for you because they are afraid of the other candidate or things that are currently happening than something is wrong.

We ehard from so many democratic woman that its high time for a woman to be in office. We also heard that those who disagreed with Hillary for running for the WHite House because she was a woman were being sexist (which is 100% true).

So where are all these so called women activists who were defending Hillary? Palin is facing attack after attack from all sides. And some of the major ones have to do that she is a mother who is going to be too tied up in family affairs to be able to handle the VP position.

So why aren’t these liberal female media personalities defending the woman? Oh I forgot she is Republican.

People from this we have learned that a woman can run for the white house and be qualified as long as she is a Democrat. WHen she is a Republican, she can never be qualified for the job.

After securing himself the honor of being the first black man ever to be a political parties nominee in the US, Obama has also secured himself an 8 point lead against his Republican rival John McCain. But mind your horses, because as many are saying (including myself) we are yet to have the RNC. Until than a jump of one point is not that significant unless you are a Hillary fan? Wait she dropped out?
